WrapSync Privacy Policy

Updated October 31, 2026

WrapSync records shoot audio, transcribes dialogue, prepares reports, and shares teleprompter scripts with nearby devices you connect. No WrapSync account is required.

WrapSync has no advertising, third-party analytics SDK, or developer-operated audio or script server. The developer does not automatically receive your recordings, scripts, transcripts, or reports.

Your content and processing

Recordings, imported script text, transcripts, notes, project details, and saved reports are stored on the device. Preferences such as appearance, microphone choice, and scroll sync are also saved locally.

Speech transcription uses Apple’s on-device recognition when available. AI summaries and script reviews use the processing choice saved for each shoot. Apple may download the models needed for on-device features. Audio remains saved when transcription is unavailable.

Best available is the default for new shoots unless you previously selected on-device AI. It uses Apple Private Cloud Compute when available and otherwise uses the on-device model. Cloud failures also fall back to this device, with a notice in the report. Apple private servers only waits instead of falling back. Transcript and script excerpts needed for cloud summaries and script review are sent to Apple. Audio and speech transcription stay on your device. Existing shoots keep their saved choice.

You can choose Best available, On this device only, or Apple private servers only in WrapSync’s AI processing setting before starting a shoot. Private Cloud Compute requires a supported device running iOS 27 or later with Apple Intelligence enabled. Cloud processing requires availability and a network connection, and daily limits apply.

When Private Cloud Compute is used, Apple processes the request on servers designed so that nothing is stored and nobody, including Apple, can read it. Apple may run this service in its own or partner data centers under the same guarantees.

App data may be included in device backups you enable through Apple or your computer. WrapSync does not provide its own automatic cloud sync.

Nearby sessions

Nearby discovery advertises a temporary session label. The host must accept a connection before sharing the script and playback controls. Accepted devices receive script text and playback and synchronization information over an encrypted connection, and can control playback.

The nearby-session feature does not stream or transfer recorded audio. Use Leave session to end a connection.

Files and exports

The document picker gives WrapSync access to the script files you select. Imported PDF or TXT content is converted into text for the shoot and teleprompter.

Export session opens Apple’s share sheet so you choose where to send the PDF. Reports can contain your script, transcript, project details, timecodes, and notes. Nothing is emailed automatically. Audio and session files are also available through Apple’s Files app.

Copies you export, share, or place in another app are controlled by that destination and are not removed when you delete the original in WrapSync.

Retention and deletion

Saved shoots remain until you delete them. Deleted shoots and their audio remain in Recently Deleted for 10 days, where you can restore them or choose Delete permanently or Delete All. Expired shoots are permanently removed while WrapSync is running or when it next opens.

The last locally imported teleprompter script is stored separately for reuse and is replaced when you choose another script. Scripts received from a nearby host are not automatically saved to that local script file.

Deleting WrapSync and its data through iOS or iPadOS Settings removes app-local data. Manage backups and exported copies separately.

Your permissions

Microphone access is used to record audio. Camera access is used to scan timecode. On-device SpeechAnalyzer transcription does not require the separate Speech Recognition permission. Local Network access is used to discover and connect nearby teleprompter devices.

You can change these permissions in Apple’s Settings app. WrapSync’s Control Center settings includes shortcuts to manage microphone and Local Network access. Turning off access can make the related feature unavailable; it does not delete recordings already saved.

Beta testers

When you use a TestFlight beta, Apple may make beta testing information, usage information, and crash reports available to the developer through TestFlight. Apple handles this separately from WrapSync’s on-device processing.

If you choose to send feedback, screenshots, or other material, the developer receives what you submit. Check it first because it may include script or shoot content.
