Common questions

Which project mode should I choose?

Teleprompter + Recording Summary lets you read a script while recording timecoded audio. Recording Summary Only focuses on the shoot recording and report. Teleprompter Only reads or shares a script without starting audio recording. Tap Start Project on the home screen to choose.

Which scripts can I import?

Choose a text-based PDF or a UTF-8 or UTF-16 TXT file, up to 10 MB. Scripts support up to 80,000 characters and PDFs up to 200 pages. Locked PDFs and pages without readable text are not supported.

Review the extracted text before continuing. PDF reading order, headers, and line wrapping can need cleanup. The teleprompter uses plain text, while the original imported script text is kept for script comparison.

How do I connect another teleprompter device?
  1. On the host, open a teleprompter project, add the script, and start a nearby session.
  2. On the other device, tap the nearby-session button on the home screen, select the host, and tap Connect.
  3. Accept the connection request on the host to share the script and playback controls.

Keep both devices awake with Wi-Fi enabled and allow Local Network access in Apple’s Settings app. WrapSync’s Settings → Control Center includes Local Network help. Nearby sharing does not require a WrapSync account. It shares script text and controls, not microphone audio, and does not remotely start or stop a recording.

How do I keep the same text line on iPhone and iPad?

Shared Layout is the default. A connected iPad supplies the shared layout, which scales to fit the other display while retaining matching line breaks. Change the sync approach in Settings → Control Center → Scroll Sync. Percentage Sync lets each device use its own text layout and matches the percentage scrolled through the document.

Where do I manage microphones and permissions?

Open Settings → Control Center in WrapSync to see microphone access and choose an available input. Apple’s Settings app manages microphone, camera, and Local Network permissions. On-device SpeechAnalyzer transcription does not need a separate Speech Recognition prompt.

Choose your input before recording. Input changes rotate the audio chunk. If the chosen microphone becomes unavailable, capture pauses with recovery instructions; saved audio is retained. Camera access is used for timecode scanning, not video recording.

Why is transcription missing or incomplete?

Transcription is currently English and uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. The required language model may need a first-use download. Check the saved audio before relying on the transcript.

Inside a completed shoot, use Rebuild transcript from saved audio to try again. Original audio remains available when recognition cannot finish. Transcription can make mistakes, so verify important wording against the recording.

How do AI summaries and Private Cloud Compute work?

Choose how reports are processed in WrapSync’s AI processing setting before starting a shoot. Best available is the default for new shoots unless you previously selected on-device AI. It uses Apple Private Cloud Compute when available and otherwise the on-device model, and cloud failures fall back to your device with a notice in the report. On this device only keeps AI processing on your device. Apple private servers only waits for Private Cloud Compute instead of falling back; you can switch an individual waiting report to on-device AI. Existing shoots keep their saved choice.

With Private Cloud Compute, relevant transcript and script excerpts go to Apple for summaries and script review. Audio recording and transcription stay on your device. Private Cloud Compute needs a supported device running iOS 27 or later with Apple Intelligence enabled; cloud availability and daily limits apply. Daily limits affect reports, never audio recording.

AI findings are suggestions to check against the original audio.

How do I create and share the PDF?

Tap WRAP to finish the recording and prepare the report. Keep WrapSync open while final transcription and report preparation finish. The completed shoot opens afterward.

Tap Export session inside the shoot to use Apple’s share sheet. The selectable-text PDF contains the available transcript, timecodes, AI notes and notices, editing references, and the attached reference script. AI or transcription limitations are noted in the report. Nothing is emailed automatically.

The editing handoff helps an editor or AI assistant plan an edit. WrapSync does not cut footage or control editing software.

Is camera timecode sync frame accurate?

Scanning is optical OCR, and manual entry sets a starting value. Both methods are approximate and are not LTC or genlock. Use a continuously running free-run camera clock, choose the exact frame rate and drop-frame option, verify the displayed value, and check critical timing against the camera and saved audio.

Where are my projects and deleted shoots?

Open Past Shoots from the home screen. Saved audio and session files are also available in Apple’s Files app under On My iPhone / On My iPad → WrapSync → Sessions.

Deleted shoots remain in Recently Deleted for 10 days, where you can restore them or permanently delete them. Expired projects are removed while WrapSync runs or when it next opens. Copies already exported to another app or location are managed separately.
